The Ahimsa Festival Nepal 2082 is a three-day public celebration dedicated to promoting compassion, non-violence, and animal rights. Free and open to all, this inclusive event warmly welcomes people from all walks of life to experience and embrace the principles of ahimsa through inspiring and engaging activities. Organized by the Nepal Vegetarian Association, in collaboration with various local and national partners, the festival will take place at Nepal Police Club, Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu on Bhadra 12, 13, and 14, 2082 (Thursday to Saturday, August 28, 29, and 30, 2025).
In Nepal, individuals and organizations who advocate for ahimsa (non-violence), justice, compassion, animal rights, and peaceful coexistence with all living beings are still relatively few. Nevertheless, they continue to make invaluable contributions toward positive social transformation in their own unique ways and within their own spheres of influence. Despite differences in approaches, styles, and areas of work, there is one unifying principle that connects us all: compassion. That is why the theme of this festival is "Compassion Connects". Based on this shared value of compassion, this festival aims to unite people and promote vegetarian and vegan lifestyles that contribute directly and indirectly to the well-being of animals, human health, and the environment.
Over the course of three days, the festival will feature a diverse array of educational and entertaining programs — including musical performances, workshops, seminars, plant-based cooking demonstrations, cruelty-free food stalls, sessions on ahimsa- based entrepreneurship, policy discussions on animal rights, flash mob performances, live concerts, yoga sessions, and more.
This festival serves as a vibrant platform to bring together individuals, organizations, and communities to celebrate the shared values of kindness, compassion, and ethical responsibility.
